Tips & Variations

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of soy sauce or nutritional yeast when cooking the tofu.
  • Mix in your favorite vegetables such as spinach, bell peppers, or mushrooms for added nutrition.
  • Use gluten-free bread if you prefer a gluten-free meal.
  • Adjust the spices to suit your taste—add chili flakes for a spicy kick.

Storage

Store any leftover tofu scramble in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a pan over low heat or in the microwave until warmed through. Avoid overheating to keep the tofu from drying out.

FAQs

Can I use regular firm tofu instead of extra firm tofu?

Extra firm tofu is best for scramble because it holds its shape and has less moisture. If you use regular firm tofu, press it well to remove excess water before cooking to avoid sogginess.

Is this recipe suitable for a gluten-free diet?

The tofu scramble itself is naturally gluten-free, but if you serve it with rye bread, it will contain gluten. Substitute with gluten-free bread or enjoy it on its own to keep it gluten-free.

  • ½ small bunch parsley, chopped

Optional

  • Rye bread, to serve (not gluten-free)
