- 1 1/2 cups cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
Snowman Features
- 1 small carrot (for nose and decorations)
- 2 black olives (for eyes and buttons)
- 1 red bell pepper (for scarf)
Vegetables for Platter
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- 1 cup baby carrots
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup cauliflower florets
- 1 cup snap peas
Optional Garnishes and Accompaniments
- Fresh parsley or dill
- Crackers or pita chips
Instructions
- Prepare the Dip Base: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and finely chopped fresh chives. Mix thoroughly until the dip is smooth and all ingredients are well blended.
- Form the Snowman Shape: Divide the prepared dip mixture into two portions: shape one larger ball to form the snowman’s body and a smaller ball to form the head. Position these on a large serving platter with the smaller ball on top of the larger to resemble a snowman.
- Add Facial Features and Scarf: Cut a slice of the carrot to create the snowman’s nose. Use the black olives to make the eyes and buttons on the snowman’s body. Slice strips of red bell pepper to form a scarf around the snowman’s neck for a festive look.
- Arrange Vegetables Around Snowman: Decoratively place the sliced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, and snap peas around the snowman dip on the platter, creating a vibrant and colorful vegetable display.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally garnish the platter with fresh parsley or dill for extra color and flavor. Serve the veggie platter alongside crackers or pita chips if desired for added crunch and variety.
Notes
- For best results, soften the cream cheese to room temperature for easier mixing.
- Use a large enough platter to comfortably fit the snowman dip and vegetable arrangement.
- Feel free to substitute or add other favorite fresh vegetables like bell peppers, radishes, or snap peas.
- This dip can be made a few hours ahead and refrigerated until serving; assemble the snowman just before serving to maintain shape.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise with plant-based alternatives.
