Slider Ingredients
- 24 Kings Hawaiian Rolls (2 12-pack packages)
- 24 meatballs (frozen or fresh)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Garlic Butter Mixture
- 1/4 cup butter (softened)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic paste
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375˚F (190˚C) to prepare for toasting the rolls and baking the sliders.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine softened butter, fresh parsley, dried basil, dried thyme, kosher salt, garlic paste, and red pepper flakes. Mix until all ingredients are well blended to create a flavorful garlic butter mixture.
- Prepare the Rolls: Arrange the Hawaiian rolls snugly in a 9×13-inch baking pan. Using a serrated knife, carefully cut out a hole in the center of each roll to make space for the filling. Brush the tops of the rolls and inside the hollowed holes generously with the prepared garlic butter. Bake the rolls for 6-8 minutes to toast and allow the butter to melt into the bread. Remove them from the oven once toasted.
- Fill the Sliders: Combine the mozzarella and parmesan cheese in a bowl. Spoon half of this cheese mixture into each hollowed hole of the rolls. Place one meatball in each hole on top of the cheese, then add a dollop of marinara sauce over the meatball. Sprinkle the remaining cheese mixture over the top of the sliders evenly.
- Bake until Melty and Hot: Return the baking pan with the assembled sliders to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes. Continue baking until the meatballs are heated through, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
- You can use store-bought or homemade meatballs depending on your preference.
- To save time, frozen meatballs can be used; just ensure they are fully heated during baking.
- Customize the sliders by adding extra herbs or a bit of crushed red pepper for more spice.
- For a crispier top, consider broiling the sliders for an additional 1-2 minutes at the end, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- These sliders can be assembled a few hours ahead and refrigerated until ready to bake, just add a few extra minutes to baking time if chilled.
