  • Author: Ben
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 burgers 1x

Description

This Lamb Kebab Burger recipe features succulent lamb patties cooked to perfection and served in toasted sesame seed buns with a creamy garlic yogurt sauce, fresh tomato slices, crunchy gherkins, spicy red chilli, and crisp Baby Gem lettuce. It’s an easy stovetop meal bursting with bold flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Garlic Yogurt Sauce

  • 2 tbsp fat-free yogurt
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 small garlic clove, grated

For the Burgers

  • ½ tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 lamb burgers
  • 2 sesame seed burger buns
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 20g gherkins, sliced
  • 1 red chilli, finely sliced
  • Leaves of 1 Baby Gem lettuce

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Garlic Yogurt Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the fat-free yogurt, mayonnaise, and grated garlic. Mix well until smooth and set aside to allow the flavors to meld.
  2. Cook the Lamb Burgers: Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add the lamb burgers and fry for about 10 minutes total, turning once halfway through to ensure even cooking until the burgers are piping hot in the centre.
  3. Toast the Burger Buns: While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the sesame seed burger buns until they are crisp and golden.
  4. Assemble the Burgers: Spread some garlic yogurt sauce on the bottom halves of the toasted buns. Top each with a lamb burger, followed by sliced tomato, gherkins, finely sliced red chilli, and leaves of Baby Gem lettuce. Add more garlic sauce on top if desired.
  5. Serve Immediately: Place the top halves of the buns on the assembled ingredients and enjoy your flavorful lamb kebab burgers while hot.

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of red chilli to your preferred level of heat or omit it for a milder taste.
  • Using fat-free yogurt keeps the sauce light without sacrificing creaminess.
  • If preferred, swap mayonnaise for a healthier alternative like Greek yogurt.
  • Ensure the lamb burgers are cooked thoroughly for safety and best texture.
  • Serve with a side of fries or salad for a complete meal.
