Hoisin Chicken Wraps Recipe

  • Author: Ben
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 2 wraps 1x

Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Hoisin wraps featuring tender strips of turkey or chicken coated in flavorful hoisin sauce, combined with fresh cucumber, spring onions, and crunchy watercress, all wrapped in warm flour tortillas. Perfect for a quick lunch or light dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein

  • 200g cooked turkey or chicken, cut into strips

Sauces

  • 4 tbsp hoisin sauce

Wrap

  • 2 flour tortillas

Vegetables

  • ¼ cucumber, deseeded and shredded
  • 4 spring onions, trimmed and finely shredded
  • Good handful watercress

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill: Set your grill to high heat to prepare for cooking the turkey or chicken.
  2. Coat the meat: Mix the cooked turkey or chicken strips with half of the hoisin sauce until they are well coated, ensuring maximum flavor absorption.
  3. Grill the meat: Spread the coated turkey or chicken evenly onto an ovenproof dish and grill until sizzling and heated through, enhancing the flavors and slightly caramelizing the hoisin sauce.
  4. Warm the tortillas: While the meat is grilling, warm the flour tortillas under the grill or follow the instructions on the pack to make them soft and pliable for wrapping.
  5. Assemble the wraps: Spread the remaining hoisin sauce onto each warmed tortilla, then layer with the grilled turkey or chicken, shredded cucumber, spring onions, and watercress.
  6. Serve and enjoy: Fold the tortillas to enclose the filling, cut each wrap in half, and enjoy immediately while the meat is still warm and the vegetables crisp.

Notes

  • Use cooked turkey or chicken for a quicker preparation; leftover roasted poultry works great.
  • Deseeding the cucumber prevents excess moisture in the wrap, keeping it crisp.
  • Hoisin sauce can vary in sweetness and saltiness; adjust the quantity to taste.
  • Watercress adds a peppery bite, but you can substitute with fresh spinach or arugula if preferred.
  • These wraps are best enjoyed immediately to maintain warmth and texture.
