Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Butter

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for topping

Bread

  • 1 large loaf of Italian bread, about 24 inches long

Chicken

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Sauce & Toppings

  • 1 (16 ounce) jar Alfredo sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the garlic bread and the assembled dish.
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a medium bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, fresh parsley, and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese until well combined for a flavorful garlic butter spread.
  3. Slice Bread: Cut the Italian bread lengthwise into two long halves without slicing all the way through, keeping them connected.
  4. Spread Garlic Butter: Generously spread the prepared garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of both bread halves to infuse flavor.
  5. Add Parmesan Cheese: Sprinkle additional grated Parmesan cheese over the garlic butter spread on the bread halves for an extra cheesy layer.
  6. Bake Bread: Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until the bread is golden brown and the garlic butter is bubbly; then remove and set aside.
  7. Prepare Chicken: Cut the boneless skinless chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces, readying them for seasoning and cooking.
  8. Season Chicken: In a medium bowl, toss the chicken pieces with olive oil, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper to evenly coat them with spices.
  9. Cook Chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the seasoned chicken, and cook for 6-8 minutes until fully cooked and no longer pink, stirring occasionally; then remove from heat.
  10. Prepare Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet, pour in the jar of Alfredo sauce along with the heavy cream to start creating the rich sauce base.
  11. Heat Sauce: Warm the sauce over medium heat while stirring constantly for 5-7 minutes until heated through and slightly thickened for optimal creaminess.
  12. Add Parmesan Cheese: Stir in 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese until melted and incorporated, making the sauce smooth and creamy.
  13. Combine Chicken and Sauce: Add the cooked chicken back into the creamy Alfredo sauce and stir thoroughly to coat all pieces evenly.
  14. Prepare Garlic Bread Base: Place the previously baked garlic bread halves onto a large baking sheet to assemble the full dish.
  15. Top with Chicken Alfredo: Spoon the chicken Alfredo mixture evenly across the surface of both garlic bread halves, covering thoroughly.
  16. Add Mozzarella Cheese: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the chicken Alfredo to add a melty topping.
  17. Bake the Assembled Bread: Return the baking sheet to the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes until the mozzarella is melted and bubbly for a perfect finish.
  18. Cool Slightly: Remove from the oven and allow the Chicken Alfredo Garlic Bread to cool for a few minutes before slicing, ensuring it sets slightly.
  19. Slice and Serve: Slice the garlic bread into individual servings with a sharp knife and serve immediately to enjoy this indulgent comfort food.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for the best flavor in the garlic butter.
  • Make sure chicken is fully cooked through to 165°F (74°C) for safety.
  • You can substitute the jarred Alfredo sauce with homemade sauce if preferred.
  • For a crispier bread, broil for the last 1-2 minutes but watch closely to prevent burning.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in an oven or air fryer for best texture retention.
  • Fresh parsley can be substituted with dried parsley if necessary, but adjust quantity accordingly.
