Bourbon Citrus Bliss Cocktail Recipe

  • Author: Ben
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A sophisticated Bourbon cocktail combining rich bourbon, smooth crème de cacao, zesty lemon juice, and a touch of sweetness from grenadine and golden caster sugar, finished with a fresh orange zest garnish. Perfectly chilled and served either straight up in Martini glasses or over ice in highball glasses for a refreshing and elegant drink.

Ingredients

Scale

Liquids

  • 2 tbsp bourbon
  • 2 tbsp crème de cacao
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • dash of grenadine

Other Ingredients

  • 2 tsp golden caster sugar
  • pared orange zest, for garnish
  • ice, for shaking

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Gather all ingredients including bourbon, crème de cacao, lemon juice, grenadine, golden caster sugar, and orange zest. Ensure you have enough ice for shaking.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, combine the bourbon, crème de cacao, lemon juice, grenadine, and golden caster sugar. Add a handful of ice to chill the mixture thoroughly.
  3. Shake Cocktail: Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the outside of the shaker is cold and the ingredients are well blended.
  4. Prepare Glassware: Choose either Martini glasses for a classic presentation or highball glasses if you prefer the cocktail served over ice.
  5. Serve Cocktail: Strain the shaken liquid into the chosen glasses. If serving in highball glasses, add fresh ice before pouring.
  6. Garnish and Present: Add the pared orange zest to each glass for an aromatic and decorative touch. Serve immediately to enjoy the cocktail at its freshest.

Notes

  • The golden caster sugar can be substituted with superfine sugar if unavailable.
  • For a sweeter cocktail, add an extra dash of grenadine to taste.
  • To intensify the orange aroma, express the zest over the glass by twisting it before adding.
  • This cocktail is best served chilled and enjoyed shortly after preparation.
  • Adjust the bourbon quantity to suit your preferred spirit strength.
