Air Fryer Halloumi Recipe

  • Author: Ben
  • Total Time: 15-18 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Crispy, golden air fryer halloumi, perfectly seasoned and cooked to a delightfully firm texture, makes an easy and quick appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Halloumi

  • 225g halloumi, cut into 6cm x 1cm thick slices
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika, mixed herbs, or other flavourings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Heat your air fryer to 200°C (392°F) for 2 minutes to ensure it reaches the optimal cooking temperature.
  2. Prepare Halloumi: Carefully pat the halloumi slices dry with kitchen paper or a clean cloth to remove excess moisture, then brush or rub each slice with olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, and any optional flavourings such as smoked paprika or mixed herbs.
  3. Cook Halloumi: Place the prepared halloumi slices in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 8 minutes until they start to turn golden brown on one side.
  4. Flip and Finish Cooking: Flip the halloumi slices over and continue cooking for an additional 2 to 5 minutes until they are crisp and golden on the outside.

Notes

  • Patting the halloumi dry before cooking helps to achieve a crispier exterior.
  • Optional seasonings like smoked paprika or mixed herbs add extra flavor but can be omitted for a simpler taste.
  • Cooking times may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model.
  • Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
